  • Effective June 17, 2013, the Sacramento Superior Court revised its Civil Document Drop-Off Sheet to include arbitration and mediation documents, notices of settlement (conditional/unconditional), and a few other changes. http://www.saccourt.ca.gov/forms/docs/cv-drop-off-sheet.pdf.
  • California Rules of Court at http://www.courts.ca.gov/rules.htm are current as of July 1, 2014.
  • Effective July 3, 2013, the arbitrator selection process at Sacramento Superior Court will change to online only and the telephone call-in selection will no longer be available. Names must be submitted on or before the Tuesday when you are required to call. The online form is available at http://www.saccourt.ca.gov/civil/arbitration-selection.aspx.
  • The new statewide fee schedule, at http://www.courts.ca.gov/7646.htm, is effective July 1, 2013.

  • Proposed changes to the local rules of Sacramento Superior Court, effective January 1, 2015, are available for public comment until December 17, 2014. Click on Local Rules on the home page, http://www.saccourt.ca.gov.
  • Closure dates for Civil Law and Motion Departments in December/January for Sacramento Superior Court are Friday, December 26, 2014 and Friday, January 2, 2015.   • Please click on the Update Notices tab for new wording required on a certificate of acknowledgment, effective January 1, 2015.
  • Wondering about the Native American Day? Government Code section 6700 was amended to declare the fourth Friday of September each year (September 25 in 2015) as the state holiday of Native American Day, but it was not intended to be a judicial holiday. Code of Civil Procedure section 135 was not amended to exclude it and curative legislation is underway to clarify that courts will not be required to close on that day. NOTE: CCP § 135 was amended, effective June 24, 2015, to clarify that it is not a judicial holiday.
  • The 2015 edition of the California Calendar Key and the 2015 mid-year edition of the Calendar Procedures Key have been published.
  • Except for ex parte matters, the Civil Law and Motion Departments (53 and 54) holiday closures will be as follows: Departments 53 on December 24, 31, 2015; and January 4, 2016; and Department 54 on December 28, 2015 and January 5, 2016.   • Effective September 19, 2016, the Sacramento County Superior Court’s Civil Law and Motion Departments (Departments 53 and 54) and the Civil Settlement Conference Department (Department 59) will relocate to the Hall of Justice Building, 813 6th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814. The conferences in the Civil Settlement Conference Department (located on the first floor) will be set Monday through Thursday at the new time of 9:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. For more information, please see www.saccourt.ca.gov under News and Notices on the home page.
